CHARTERHALL
Charterhall, 24 September 1961.
Here is the Official Programme from that meeting. This was signed on the day by the great Jim Clark - as terrific memento!
The race programme shows my Lotus Eleven being driven in Race 7 by George Robinson against the great Jim Clark. Jim was in an Aston Martin DBR1 and ‘A.N. Other’ [a certain Jackie Stewart] was also in the race, driving in an Aston Martin DB4GT .
Programme Courtesy of Bill Kerr-Elliott; many thanks Bill.

I was really excited to receive an email from Philip Joisce. He wrote to me as follows:-
Hi John,
Just visited lotusracer.com and saw you have not only spoken to Tony Dean but also Joe Robinson - what a result! I knew Joe Robinson very well, also Brian who is George's son. He is also in the pictures as well as Billy and Norah who were George and Joe's parents. Do you have Joe's contact details?
To add to your collection on the history, I finally found the 35mm trannies, I can give you higher 600dpi versions or as you are so close you can borrow them if you want to get them scanned properly.
Joe is standing behind the girl with the plain cream jumper in picture, 005 and is sitting in the Britannia FJ being loaded on the transporter in 010 - that was what Joe raced while George raced the Eleven. The handsome young man sitting in the cars is of course me...
Regards Philip
What a result; I am so pleased that Philip sent me all this information and to have pictures taken at Chaterhall is just fantastic.
Thank you very much Philip, it’s great to have such super atmospheric shots of the car in the early 1960’s.
